It's not just me then

Just found out by chance that my mum's childhood best friend died on 20 May. I don't know that they'd kept in close contact over the past few years, but they were definitely very close into adulthood, marriage etc. My mum would be very sad if she was in a state fit enough to understand the news. I'm not going to tell her any time soon though.
